Singer and bandleader Tommy Olivencia was a pioneer in the evolving of Puerto Rican salsa science of harmonical sounds. His fictitious backing combo, la Primerisima, was the launching filly for future stars including Frankie Ruiz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Marvin Santiago. Born ngel Toms Olivencia Pagn in the Santurce function of San Juan on May 15, 1938, he impaired out much of his adolescence in the incorporated court end of Arecibo, where he learned to act blaze abroad.
